Kiwanis Celebrity Roast - August 28, 2010

The Kiwanis Club of Excelsior Springs has chosen Carolyn Schutte as the subject of the 2010 Celebrity Roast. Schutte, who operates an Edward Jones investment company office in Excelsior Springs, is well known for her civic activities. She is a member of several clubs and organizations, and has served on the Excelsior Springs City Council since 2006, including leading the council as mayor in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

In the past, the Roast—an event to celebrate prominent residents of Excelsior Springs—has been held during the early months of the year. This year, however, the dinner and evening of fun has been moved to later in the year, in part to coincide with the community’s PRIDE celebration.

This year’s Roast will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, in the Grand Ballroom at the Elms Resort & Spa, 401 Regent Ave. Social hour starts at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The Roast will take place shortly afterward.
